::  Medicare, not medikill

Did you know that Medicare paid $1.7 million for 10,000 second trimester (14-26 weeks) abortions since 1994?

Babies as young as 21 weeks have survived outside the womb. Foetuses are now routinely operated on in utero. So why should our Medicare levy continue paying for late abortions?

::  Don't Dismiss Dad

**STOP PRESS** This bill has now passed into law.

New South Wales pollies have passed laws dismissing dads from some kids’ birth certificates. Where two lesbians use donor sperm to have a child, that child’s birth certificate can now have its parents listed as two mothers. [Began 29/05/2008]

::  Aid, not abortion

A cross-party group of politicians is trying to divert some of Australia's limited overseas aid money to fund abortions.

It is disturbing that this policy change could be made without asking Parliament. Surely food and clean water should take priority over abortion? [Began 23/05/2008]

::  Care, not killing.

A renewed push for euthanasia in Victoria could change the role of doctors from carers to killers.
Palliative care is the best way to help those suffering with terminal illness, not making them feel like a burden to society.
The Dutch experience shows that so-called voluntary euthanasia quickly becomes involuntary.

::  Alive and Kicking!

Victoria is on the brink of a dramatic change to its abortion laws. The Victorian Government has received recommendations from the Victorian Law Reform Commission on how to further relax the laws around abortion.

This is a death sentence for unborn children, who are Alive & Kicking! It is time to act! [Began 19/07/2007]

::  Say No to X

Pornography has been named as one of the main causes of an epidemic of child sexual abuse in Northern Territory indigenous communities. There are even distressing reports of children watching pornography and then acting it out. This situation gives the lie to suggestions that pornography isn’t harmful to society. And the problems it causes aren’t confined to indigenous communities. [Began 05/07/2007]

::  Less CO2 By U

The world’s climate is changing and scientists are warning there will be significant consequences for humanity and the environment. Unfortunately the worst consequences will be felt by those least able to bear it. Tackling climate change will take a lot. We need government action and we need to do more ourselves. ::  Lets talk about it

Pregnancy, even planned pregnancy, can bring a variety of conflicting emotions or fear of the unknown to those intimately involved. Abortion as a solution to these fears leaves the woman cruelly alone with the responsibility and risk. Each woman needs time to work through her fears to find what she really longs for, and needs counselling that facilitates that, and protects her from those that might profit from her decision made in fear. ::  Don't turn a blind eye

There’s a difference between symptoms and causes. Refugees are often a symptom of the abuses that take place in some countries.

Treating the symptoms involves providing refugees with humanitarian aid and by allowing them temporary or permanent residence in Australia. But to treat the causes, we must do more to stop people being so badly treated in their own countries in the first place. [Began 05/04/2007]

::  Human Cloning NO!

News flash: The WA Upper House has rejected human cloning, meaning that it will remain illegal to clone and kill human embryos in that state.

South Australia still has to decide whether it will retain its current ethical ban on cloning so if you live in SA, please ask your pollies to oppose cloning.
